Are your extensions 100% human hair? +
Yes. Every extension we offer is crafted from 100% premium human hair.
How long do hair extensions last? +
Extension lifespan depends on the collection, extension method,
your natural hair, maintenance and aftercare. Our Standard Collection
generally lasts around 6–8 months with appropriate care, while our
Signature Collection can often be reused for 12 months or longer.
Which hair extension method is right for me? +
The right method depends on your natural hair, lifestyle, desired length,
volume and maintenance preferences. Elegant Strands offers a range of
methods including weft extensions, tape extensions, keratin bonds,
microbeads, nanobeads, ICE Infusions and Butterfly Weft extensions.
A consultation can help determine the most suitable option for you.
How often do I need maintenance appointments? +
Maintenance timing depends on your extension method, natural hair growth
and lifestyle. Many extension methods require maintenance around every
6–8 weeks, while others have different maintenance schedules.
Personalised recommendations will be provided for your chosen method.
How do I care for my hair extensions? +
Every Elegant Strands client receives personalised aftercare advice.
We recommend gentle brushing morning and night, avoiding sleeping with
wet hair, using heat protection, attending maintenance appointments as
recommended and using extension-safe haircare.
Can I use heat styling tools on my extensions? +
Yes. Hair extensions can be curled, straightened and styled.
Always use a heat protectant and avoid excessive heat.
We recommend keeping styling tools at or below approximately 180°C
where suitable.
Can I colour my hair extensions? +
Hair extensions can be coloured in some circumstances; however,
bleaching is not recommended. Wherever possible, we professionally
colour-match your extensions before installation to achieve the most
seamless blend possible.
Can I swim, exercise or live an active lifestyle with extensions? +
Yes. Extensions are designed to complement your lifestyle.
We recommend securing your hair in a braid or ponytail during exercise
or swimming, protecting the lengths before swimming where appropriate,
and rinsing thoroughly afterwards.
Why does extension hair need extra care? +
Extension hair does not receive natural oils from the scalp in the same
way growing hair does, so good aftercare is particularly important for
maintaining softness, hydration and manageability through the lengths
and ends.
Can I apply conditioner or hair mask to my extension attachments? +
Application depends on the extension method you wear.
Follow the specific aftercare instructions provided for your method
and concentrate conditioning products through the appropriate lengths
and ends rather than directly onto attachments unless advised otherwise.

What happens during a hair extension consultation? +
Your consultation is used to discuss your natural hair, desired length,
volume, colour match, suitable extension methods, maintenance requirements
and pricing so you know what to expect before going ahead.
Can I bring my own hair extensions? +
Yes. BYO hair installation is available for selected extension methods,
subject to the hair being suitable for installation.
Please check with Elegant Strands before booking so the hair can be assessed.
Do you offer professional hair extension removal? +
Yes. Elegant Strands offers professional hair extension removal with care
taken to protect the natural hair. Removal requirements and pricing can
vary depending on the extension method and amount of hair being removed.
Do you offer quiet appointments? +
Yes. Quiet appointments are available for clients who would prefer minimal
conversation and a calmer, more relaxed salon experience.
Where is the Elegant Strands salon located? +
Elegant Strands is a luxury home hair extension salon located in
Craigieburn, Melbourne, Victoria.
How do I book a hair extension appointment? +
Appointments and consultations can be booked or enquired about through

New clients may be asked to complete a consultation before their installation.

Yes. Elegant Strands Professional Haircare™ was created with hair
extensions in mind and focuses on gentle cleansing, hydration,

Can I use Elegant Strands if I don't wear extensions? +
Yes. The range was created with extension wearers in mind but is also
suitable for natural hair, colour-treated hair, bleached hair,
chemically treated hair and nanoplasty-treated hair.
What is The Four-Free Extension System™? +
The Four-Free Extension System™ is the complete Elegant Strands
four-product routine: The Silhouette Hydrating Shampoo,
The Embrace Nourishing Conditioner, The Vault Intensive Hair Mask
and The Elixir Weightless Hair Elixir.
Why is it called The Four-Free Extension System™? +
The name represents four professional haircare products forming one
complete extension-focused system. Across all four products,
the range excludes protein, keratin, silicones, sulfates,

Standard shipping within Australia is free.
Express shipping and international shipping charges are additional
